Winder is a city located in Barrow County, Georgia. It is part of the Atlanta metro area. There are a number of places to visit while you are in Winder. These include Fort Yargo State Park, City Pond Park, Colleen O. Williams Theater, and the Corner Bookstore.

Fort Yargo State Park

Fort Yargo State Park is a 1,816 acre state park located in Winder, Georgia. It is located one mile south of the town of Winder, just off Georgia State Route 81. It contains a 260-acre lake with a public beach.

Visitors can explore the Fort Yargo State Park, which has several hiking trails, a lake, and a disc golf course. The park also offers camping facilities, with twenty-six campsites offering either 30 or 50-amp electric hookups.

In addition to the state park, Winder has many other attractions that are suitable for families. Some of these attractions include restaurants that serve quality seafood or classic American cuisine. In addition, there are many great thrift shops and antique shops in the city. Visitors can also visit the Barrow County Museum and the State Botanical Garden of Georgia.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating a deadly shooting at City Pond Park in Winder, Georgia. On Monday, April 11, a man was found dead in the park near a car. After realizing that the crime scene was outside the city limits, they turned over the scene to the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office and requested assistance from the GBI. The investigation is ongoing.

Located on Old City Pond Road, the 80-acre City Pond Park offers a wide range of recreational activities. It is home to six lighted baseball fields, including one for young players. The park also has four lighted tennis courts. In addition, a playground is available for children, and there are batting cages for young players.

Colleen O. Williams Theater

Located within the Winder Cultural Arts Center, the Colleen O. Williams Theater seats 200 people and features state-of-the-art lighting and audio technology. The theater is a great venue for a variety of different productions and events. The theater is also home to Winder Barrow Community Theater.

This theater was named for Winder’s first drama teacher. It recently underwent a complete renovation after two years of planning. The new theater features state-of-the-art lighting and video projection, a stage large enough to accommodate most productions, and a green room and dressing rooms for actors. It also offers a theater workshop area.

The production team featured Nikos Psacharapoulos as the artistic director. Costume designers Rita Bottomley and Robert Darling helped bring the play to life. Other key members of the team include Phil Eickhoff and J. Sundstrum. The cast of this production was rounded out by the talents of a dozen assistants.

Corner Bookstore
